MEET Jason

"You have a closer connection to the artist. It makes it seem like they understand more of what you're going through, because they've gone through it before... it brings in a more personable feeling to you. Like you're closer to them for that"

Jason Franzluebbers

Jason has been collecting for about 13 years. One of Jason’s goals is to collect all of the albums on Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 greatest albums of all time list. He currently has 97 of them included in his overall collection of 200+. Jason's love for vinyl grew when he was a kid when he would "scratch the hell" out of his parents vinyl trying to get it on their record player so he could hear the sweet sounds of Elvis.

Jason has always been interested in the “classics” but indulged himself in classic rock his freshman year of college when his interest in the genre sparked again when taking the History of Rock course offered at UNL. Jason began to be fascinated about the Beatles and the bands they influenced. Since then, Jason has expanded his love of classic rock to artists such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen and more. Jason also has a large respect for country artists and even enjoys making some time for artists like Frank Sinatra.

Jason’s favorite artists to listen to at the moment are:

  • Bob Seger

  • Eric Clapton

  • The Beach Boys

  • Queen

His (current) favorite album to listen to is Bob Seger’s Smokin’ O.P.’s and his go to album is Queen’s Night at the Opera.

“Collecting is definitely a passion of mine. It’s led me to playing guitar and learning how to express my own self from examples and influences I’ve had through music."
